Often the first course as you "go tech" the Advanced Nitrox Course introduces the fundamental academic and in-water skills required to safety and effectively plan decompression dives to the training depth of 140 fsw with a maximum of 15 minutes decompression.
A classic benefit for this course is the ability to do one long dive at the same (deeper) site while other divers do a short dive then sit out for an hour surface interval before another short dive.
The ability to spend more bottom time exploring the wreck or site with minimal decompression and not having to spend what can frequently be an uncomfortable hour surface interval is what frequently guides people to this course.
Depending on the individual divers prior experience, air consumption and physical needs this course can be taught using a larger single scuba tank or the more traditional twin tank configuration, a.k.a "doubles".
Using a combination of home study, "skype" communication and class/dive sessions you'll work with your instructor to learn:

- How to use oxygen upto a partial pressure of 1.5 (PO2)
- Planning techniques to determine gas types and volumes
- Decompression Sickness (DCS) and ways to avoid and treat
- Equipment configurations best suited to you, the team and the dive
- Equipment configurations
- Buoyancy skills
- Emergency valve and out of air procedures
Dive Skills
- Min 4 dives / 120 minutes bottom time (2 dives between 100-140 fsw)
- Repetition of skills on all dives
- Gas switches for accelerated decompression
- DSMB/Bag deployments and drift ascents
