Advanced Diving Techniques

As you do more dives, talk to new buddies or research different dive locations, you will become aware of:

  • additional training that you may need to acheive certain dives,
  • techniques and technologies that could significantly aid your diving,
  • ways of increasing your own personal safety.

These styles of diving are applicable to both the recreational and technical diver so might be considered hybrid or cross-overs.

Self Sufficient Diver

The self-sufficient diver course trains students in the importance of gas management, equipment redundancy and the ability to self rescue.

This course is equally applicable to those wanting an additional level of safety (beyond the Rescue Diver level) OR the single diver planning a vacation where the "cattle boat" mentality frequently assigns buddies to each other who have different dive objectives or ability. Learn more...

Sidemount Diving

Sidemount diving is increasingly popular due to its diverse applications for divers who:

  • want to comfortably carry extra breathing gas
  • dive confined environment, e.g. wrecks and caves
  • want increased safety/redundancy in their breathing gas
  • wishing to 'pack light' for vacations but still want performance. Learn more...

Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV)

DPVs come in a large range of styles and open up a whole new range and performance ability in the water. Whether it be extended penetrations into caves, the ability to cover greater differences on the reefs and even, under carefully structured conditions, racing fellow divers, there is a DPV to fit all needs.
