Additional Specialities
A specialty course offers the diver a chance to focus on a particular technique or style of diving with a short class session and multiple dives. Professional instructors at BubblesOptional regularly use the skills involved in the courses and have a passion for the particular specialty.
Examples of popular specialty courses include:
- Navigation: Learn skills to use the oceans natural way markers to find your way to and from the dive entry point(s) as well as advanced compass work. By the end of the course you will be doing complex navigation with confidence
- Photography/Videography: With the number of solutions for underwater photo and video increasing BubblesOptional Instructors will teach you the basics as well as useful "tips and tricks" using practical in-water sessions and above water processing/manipulation to produce quality images for print, YouTube, Facebook etc.
- Dry Suit: Don't let living in cooler waters put you off diving. These locations frequently have an incredible array of wrecks, fish and corals to make the dive well worth while. The Dry Suit course can be taught in any water and you'll soon be prepared to stay warm and dry while enjoying these new sites.
The table below shows some of the specialty certifications available through PADI (and many other agencies) for the recreational scuba diver.
For courses not indicating a "max depth (fsw)" the diver is restricted to the maximum allowed by their current level of either Open Water Scuba Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
