Enriched Air ("Nitrox")

Enriched Air ("Nitrox") is one of the most popular specialty scuba diving courses, and its easy to see why. Scuba diving with nitrox gives you more no-decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive dives. You typically stay down longer, get back in the water sooner and many people report ending the day feeling less tired. No wonder many divers choose this as their very first specialty.

What You'll Learn

  • Techniques for getting more dive time by using enriched air
  • Enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations
  • Managing oxygen exposure and how to tell what's in your scuba tank and how to set your dive computer

The table below gives an example of the extended "bottom times" (minutes) capable when using nitrox. (Note: "Grey cells" shown for example and should not be planned unless appropriately certified)
